Imported bearings require strict manufacturing accuracy and high degree of technical specialization. Therefore, for the vast majority of imported bearings which are easy to buy, it should be more cost-effective to purchase than repair. Only in the following cases can the repair of imported bearings be considered.
(1) The main failure modes of imported bearings used in ball mills are wear on rolling surfaces, fatigue or fretting wear, especially the damaged parts are mostly cages or rolling bodies, while the rings or gaskets are still of repair value; (2) the imported bearings are on the verge of failure or have failed without major damage to the parts, or the precious imported bearings must be. The effective service life of imported bearings must be prolonged; (3) minor damage to imported bearings, such as slight water rust during storage period and slight micro-abrasion during transportation, is a pity that repair is easy and discarded.
Imported bearing repair should consider not only its economic benefits, but also technical factors. Repairers are fully aware of the technical requirements of imported bearings and the structural, technological and material characteristics of imported bearings and their parts. Otherwise, it is difficult to ensure that the imported bearings are repaired to meet the requirements.
In addition, attention should be paid to monitoring the operation of bearings in daily production, and repairing bearings in a planned way before they fail can achieve twice the result with half the effort. At the same time, following reasonable technology, using efficient repair equipment and tools, and obtaining help from professional bearing factories will help to improve the economic benefits of enterprises.
